This package is available for clients who have previously had a Full Valet, Paint Correction or Ceramic Coating service carried out on their vehicle. This service is carried out monthly to ensure your vehicle stays looking immaculate all year round.

As with all our services, we use safe wash methods to prevent scratches and swirl marks. We also use premium detailing chemicals, ensuring your vehicle is only ever treated with the best products.

Paint Correction (from £480)

Most cars are littered with clear coat scratches and swirl marks which are inflicted as a result of improper wash technique. These defects can be removed or minimised by machine polishing.

We first start with a thorough deep clean, chemical decontamination, and clay bar treatment to prepare the paintwork. Next, we machine polish the paint to addresses these clear coat defects and greatly improve the gloss levels and depth of colour. The finish is then locked in with a protective wax or sealant.

Do you offer maintenance plans?

Yes, if your vehicle has previously had a full valet, paint correction or ceramic coating service in the last 4 weeks then it will qualify for a place on our maintenance valet plan. This is carried out monthly to keep your vehicle in the best possible condition. This service starts from £60.

What are your prices?

For new customers, our entry-level Full Valet package starts from £120. We also offer paint correction packages starting from £480 and ceramic coating packages starting from £720. Our maintenance plan for regular clients starts from £60.

What is car detailing?

Car detailing is the process of deep cleaning, enhancing, and protecting the interior and exterior surfaces of a vehicle.

Compared to roadside and automatic car washes, detailing services provide a much more thorough clean, and access all the difficult to reach nooks and crannies to reset the vehicle back to factory-level cleanliness.

In addition to deep cleaning the vehicle, detailing services also perform the process in a manner which is safe for the condition. For example, by using safe wash techniques (e.g. pre-washing), and premium microfibre wash mitts and towels to touch the paint, as opposed to harsh brushes and sponges which cause scratches and swirl marks.

The enhancement stage of a detail mostly consists of machine polishing. This removes clear coat scratches and swirl marks which unfortunately most vehicles (even brand-new ones) have, and enhances the depth of colour and gloss.

Finally, the surfaces are protected using a wax, sealant or ceramic coating. This helps to lock in the hard work, and keeps the vehicle cleaner between washes.

What is machine polishing?

Machine polishing, otherwise known as paint correction involves lightly abrading the paintwork to remove scratches and swirl marks in the clear coat. Polished paintwork looks much glossier and more reflective, helping to rejuvenate the finish and make the vehicle look brand-new again.

Machine polishing is carried out using either a dual-action or rotary polisher with a microfibre, wool, or foam pad. The polishing liquid is applied to the pad and the polisher is used to work this over the paintwork. The polish residue is then buffed away to reveal a flatter clear coat layer.

What is a ceramic coating?

Ceramic coatings provide a tough layer of protection for the vehicle’s paintwork, glass, trim, wheels and even hard interior surfaces. This shields the surface from the environment helping to keep it cleaner for longer and make it easier to maintain. The primary benefits of a ceramic coating are:

– Excellent durability: coatings last for several years (rather than several months like waxes and sealants)
– Chemical resistance: provides protection against bird droppings and water spot etching
– Wash marring resistance: helps to keep swirl marks at bay
– Easy maintenance: the highly hydrophobic and slick finish repels dirt

A ceramic coating is applied to the paintwork using a suede or microfibre applicator in a cross-hatch pattern. The residue is then removed once the coating has “flashed” which usually takes 10-60 seconds. The coating should then be allowed to cure (ideally indoors) for at least 12 hours and must not be washed for at least 7 days whilst it fully hardens.

What are “safe wash techniques”?

Safe wash techniques are used in all car detailing and valeting services provided by Detailed Driven. These help to reduce the risk of inflicting clear coat swirl marks and scratches. Here are some examples of safe wash techniques:

– Using separate tools for the wheels and paintwork to avoid cross contamination
– Using soft microfibre mitts instead of harsh sponges and brushes when hand-washing
– Using compressed air and plush microfibre towels to dry the paint
– Pre-washing the paintwork to remove as much abrasive dirt as possible before using a mitt

What chemicals do you use?

Detailed Driven uses high-quality detailing chemicals from industry-leading brands including Car Gods, Autobead, Gtechniq, Bilt Hamber, Gyeon, and Yum Cars. Here are some examples of the types of chemicals we use:

– Alloy cleaner: formulated to safely deal with stubborn brake dust contamination
– Citrus-pre wash: to remove dirt before making contact with the paint
– Snow foam: to soften traffic film during the pre-wash stage
– Car shampoo: highly lubricated to safely contact-wash the vehicle
– Tar remover: to address stubborn tar deposits which accumulate on the lower sections
– Iron fallout remover: to address ferrous contamination collected from traffic film, railways, and brake discs
– Polishing liquids & compounds: to machine polish the paintwork
– Waxes, sealants and ceramic coatings: to protect the paintwork
– Trim restorer: to rejuvenate faded black plastics and shield against UV damage
– Tyre dressing: restores the dark finish and helps keep the tyres cleaner
– Interior cleaner: cleans and sanitises hard and soft interior surfaces
– Leather cleaner: safely deep cleans leather upholstery and steering wheels
– Leather conditioner: rejuvenates the finish and protects the surface
– Automotive glass cleaner: safe on tinted windows and results in a smear-free finish
